All guides at rk are certified as Full Mountain Guides, Ski Guides or Apprentice Ski Guides as required by HeliCat Canada and are members of the Association of Mountain Guides (ACMG) or IFMGA. As part of their professional qualifications, they are required to have advanced first aid training; Level 1 (assistant guides) or Level 11 (all other guides), Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) forecasting courses and annual training in order to maintain their membership with ACMG. Some guides also have training in diverse and related fields such as explosive control.

Andrew NelsonACMG Ski GuideAndrew was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario but has called Panorama and Invermere home since 1995. He still heads east regularly to get his sailing fix on Lake Superior, though. Andrew is an ACMG Ski Guide and a Professional Member and Instructor for the CAA.

Mike KoppangACMG Ski GuideMike was born in Edmonton, Alberta and still lives in Alberta. He calls Canmore home since 1994. Mike has worked as a Ski Guide with rk since 2007 and also works with the Alberta Government as a Mountain Rescue specialist and Avalanche Forecaster.

Kirk MauthnerACMG Mountain GuideKirk is an ACMG / IFMGA Mountain Guide who was raised in the Columbia Valley. When not guiding, he loves to spend some time with his family. This especially outside in the mountains. Kirk also is the Canadian representative for Terrestrial Rescue at the International Commission for Alpine Rescue.

Cyril ShokoplesACMG Mountain GuideCyril is an ACMG and IFMGA certified mountain guide and has guided for rk for almost 20 years. He also is a professional member of the Canadian Association. When not working at rk, he runs his own business specialized in mountain leadership and mountain rescue training. His hobby is underwater videography and he also is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

Brodie SmithACMG Apprentice Ski GuideBrodie was born and raised in the Columbia valley. He grew up skiing and had a fascination with helicopters from a very young age. When he went heli-skiing for the first time, he got instantly hooked! Brodie is an ACMG Apprentice Ski Guide and a hiking guide in the summer.

Gaby IngramFront Desk ManagerGaby was born and raised in Germany, but Canada has been her chosen home since 1987. She discovered her love for the mountains and waist-deep snow while working in Banff National Park and joined the team at rk in 2004. Gaby also has a passion for bicycle touring, the most memorable thing being a solo bike trip across Canada!

Rob GallagherPilotComing from a humble background, Rob started his love for helicopters back in the early 1970′s and created an admiration for these incredible flying machines throughout the years. Growing up in the heli-ski world, Rob thought everybody had a helicopter in their back yard. Needless to say, he has had a passion for flying and skiing ever since. Rob has been actively flying since 1991 and is one of the founders and President of Coldstream Helicopters. He is looking forward to again being a part of the rk team and has over 10,000 hours of flying time, with years of extensive heli-skiing experience. When not working, he loves skiing, wake surfing, mountain biking and having lots of fun with his son Quinn and his beautiful wife Candace.

Jason BrownPilotJason has spent the last 10 years flying in southern BC. His experience has taken him to several different locations over his career, including TLH heliskiing, Coast Range Heliskiing and Whistler Heliskiing. Jason has been involved in many of the latest Ski and Snowboard films, including " No ordinary skier" Oakley, " The Way I see it" Match Stick Productions to name a few.

Derek RobinsonPilotDerek's career has taken him throughout Canada and the US for the last 31 years. He has been able to work within the heart of the busiest cities in the US providing both Fire and Rescue support, as well as working as far north as the Beaufort sea. He has spent most of his 14,000 hours in the mountains and his heli-ski time throughout these past 18 years has been between Weigle / Great Canadian / CMH
