Ability Guide

Heli-skiers and heli-boarders are grouped by "stated" ability levels and the ski runs are chosen to suit the general calibre of the 11 person group the best. On days when there is only one group skiing, the pace is matched to the most moderate skier. Powder instruction is readily offered by your personal guide. Rate your level of experience from the categories below:


Intermediate Heli Skier
You are reasonably fit and ski blue runs with confidence. You have no off piste (ungroomed) powder or tree skiing experience. You are a long radius parallel skier.  
First time heliskiing?
  Intermediate Heli Boarder
You can snowboard on blue runs consistently linking turns and have confidence at high speeds. You are capable of riding in an existing straight track through lower angle terrain. No powder experience. Good physical shape.  First time heliboarding?

Advanced Heli Skier
You are physically fit and have some off piste powder and tree skiing experience. You can ski most types of downhill runs at your own pace. You are a short radius parallel skier.
 
Advanced Heli Boarder
You can ride blue runs with confidence and enjoy the challenge of black runs. Able to traverse in a single track through flat terrain. Some powder experience and in excellent physical shape.

Expert Heli Skier
You are in top physical shape and have experience skiing off piste in powder and can ski all types of downhill ski runs including trees, moguls and steep pitches with confidence.
 
Expert Heli Boarder
You can confidently ride all mountain terrain. Many seasons of powder experience. Great physical shape.
